Meet NextShop

NextShop is not just another eCommerce platform. It is a complete commerce operating system that powers both your customer-facing storefront and your internal operations — inventory, orders, point-of-sale, staff management, and reporting — all from a single, unified dashboard. Built on Next.js with a RESTful API backend, NextShop delivers a modern, responsive experience for merchants, staff, and customers alike.

Why NextShop?

  • Multi-Tenant Architecture — Every merchant gets an isolated database schema, ensuring data never crosses tenant boundaries. Your data stays yours.
  • Dual Interface — A public storefront for your customers and a private admin dashboard for your team. Both are fully customizable and themeable.
  • Role-Based Access Control — Granular permissions system with roles like super_admin, admin, manager, staff, and salesman. Control exactly who can see and do what.
  • POS-Ready — Built-in Point of Sale system for in-person transactions. Works alongside your online store with shared inventory and customer data.
  • API-First Design — All functionality is exposed through a clean REST API. Build custom integrations, mobile apps, or third-party connections with ease.
  • Schema-Isolated Security — Each merchant tenant has a dedicated database schema with separate tables, preventing data leakage and ensuring predictable performance.

Architecture Overview

NextShop follows a modern three-tier architecture. At the frontend, a Next.js application handles both the public storefront and the admin dashboard using the App Router with route groups. The API layer is a RESTful backend that processes all business logic and data operations. At the data layer, each merchant tenant receives an isolated PostgreSQL schema, ensuring complete data isolation. The system uses JWT-based authentication with a permission security store that continuously validates permissions against the server to detect tampering.
